It comes with a pH colour scale and 80 test strips made of litmus paper.
The coloured test strips must match the pH colour chart to determine the pH value: the smaller the number, the stronger the acidity, the larger the value, the stronger the alkalinity.
Do not dip directly into the liquid, drip the test liquid onto the test strips.
Estimated pH values of different fermented foods:
- Kombucha: 3.5 - 2.5 (7-10 days of fermentation);
- Water kefir: 3.5 (48-72 hours fermentation);
- Milk kefir: 4 - 3.5 (24-48 hours of fermentation);
- Sauerkraut: 3.7 (7 days fermentation);
- Pickles: 3.2 (7 days fermentation).
