A spice similar in shape to ginger or turmeric. However, the taste of galangal is different. It is mistakenly called Thai ginger or Siamese ginger.
Its taste is more akin to citrus and spicy. This dried form is the easiest way to preserve and store galangal for a long time. It is used a lot in Thai cuisine and can be found in abundance in dishes such as Tom Yum. You can also add it to tea or just make ginger tea.
