Cheese maker
Description
Instructions for preparation
- Pour the kefir into the net basket of the Kefirko Cheese Maker. You can pour approximately 0.6 l (20 ounces) of kefir. Cover with the top lid - tightly to allow air to flow - to prevent small bits and flies from falling into the kefir cheese.
- Place the Kefirko Cheese Maker in the refrigerator to prevent/slow down further fermentation. Leave it for a reasonable amount of time to strain and get the desired thickness of cheese. When passaging, you may find that some of the cheese dries on the edge of the ring, which you can easily clean off with a spoon.
- Remove the Kefirko cheese maker from the refrigerator and open the top lid. (At this point, you can use the compression spring to make harder cheese.) Unscrew the ring and remove it along with the mesh basket. Use the top lid as a tray for the mesh basket and lower the ring down. Take the mesh basket and flip it over the plate to pull out the cheese.
- The cheese is now ready to eat or use in recipes. Flavor the cheese by adding dried or fresh fruit, nuts, herbs or spices of your choice. Choose your ingredients and prepare your fresh cheese the way you like it.
